     One of the ministries I am associated with is called Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministry is a group of lay people who have received over 50 hours of training in how to be an empathetic listener. There are times when we all need extra comfort and support. When we experience such times, we sorely need someone to listen to our feelings. Listening is a powerful component of the healing process. Sometimes family and close friends are too emotionally involved to serve this need best. As christians we are called to reach out - to be a friend in need. Stephen Ministers are trained to be totally confidential, sensitive, non-judgemental listeners.

      In fact we were blessed with a Stephen Minister when my wife was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Her Stephen Minister was instumental in her spiritual healing process.

     I greatly encourage stephen Ministry to anyone who might be undergoing any kind of personal crisis; from broken relatioships, job loss, illness, loss of a loved one, divorce, depression and more.
